Earth Shaking, Mountain Making, a study of California geology is the McMains Crew fall expedition and we plan an extraordinary final product. With the guidance of a local cinematographer, the McMains Crew will be writing, directing, and producing a documentary film for entry in youth film festivals!
 
Along with our academic expedition, we are launching a 3-year character expedition,Who Am I? Through this expedition we will explore who we are as individuals and who we are becoming as members of our larger world community. As part of that exploration, McMains Crew is forming as one of only two California middle school PeaceJam clubs. PeaceJam is a nationwide organization that empowers young people to take part in global change. Through our PeaceJam curriculum, we will study the lives of Nobel Laureates, examine our own values and beliefs, and either create or join a service project that addresses a global need.
