Welcome Holguin Crew!!!

This year classroom newsletters will be posted on our very own crew page! This will be an important place to get all kinds of great information about the Holguin Crew. Please make sure to check it often so you don’t miss any fabulous classroom happenings. There will also be a classroom calendar with important dates, volunteer times, and school celebrations posted.

Classroom News

The past two weeks our crew has spent a lot of time getting to know all about each other, our classroom, and our school.Together, after sharing our hopes and dreams for the year, we came up with our class rules. After much discussion we were able to narrow our original list of 20 rules, down to 5!

 

We have also spent part of each day learning how to use the math materials, playing math games, writing in our new journals, singing songs, reciting poems, practicing our handwriting, and learning the daily routines that help our class be a safe and caring place.

 

Expedition News

I will unveil our year-long expedition next week. Since the children don’t know what it is yet, I am keeping the secret until next Tuesday! Make sure to ask your kiddo about it when s/he gets home.

 

Upcoming Fieldwork Dates:

  • Monday, September 12- walk to Meadow Park for team building

  • Tuesday, September 20- bus to beach (trying for West End at Donner Lake, but might be Commons Beach in Tahoe City, depends on the bus schedule)

  • Friday, September 30- Machado’s Apple Orchard

Other Important Dates:

  • Wednesday, September 14- minimum day, all students dismissed at 1:00

  • Thursday, September 15- Back to School Night, our crew meets from 6:00-7:00
