Hi SELS community,
I want to update you all on events for the next couple of weeks.
-
Oct 24-28 is Minimum Day week; elementary students are released at 1 pm and 6th graders at 11:45. There will be no Kinder After-School Care as all will have access to busing.
-
Oct 24-28 is also Goal-setting Conferences with parents, students, and teachers. Teachers are scheduling, so please make sure you have provided them with several available times.
-
Oct 31: BEAR WALK, from 9:30-11:30 am. Costumes allowed (must be appropriate for all ages; no violent themes or “weapons”; masks discouraged). CHANGE: earlier we had mentioned students changing out of costumes after the Bear Walk; no longer. Students can wear costumes all day – please make sure they are comfortable enough for this and for walking/running during the Bear Walk.
-
Coffee House, Friday mornings starting at 8:45 am. Parents, please join us for coffee, pastries and conversation, then stay for our weekly Community Meeting at 9:15 am.
-
Friday, Nov 4 our students will be performing (time not yet finalized, but approximately 5:30 pm) at the Dia de los Muertos celebration at the downtown Community Center. More info to come next week.
ANNOUNCEMENT: Denise Strecker, our Instructional Support Teacher, will soon be leaving us for motherhood. I have a Reading Specialist job posted on the website; please pass this on to anyone you feel would be qualified and would like to see as part of our Crew.
Thanks again for all of your support and help in providing our students with the best possible learning environment.
David
