Springtime in February

Hi all,

Quiet week on campus as the McMains Crew is off on a four day “California Wonders Tour”. They are connecting today’s human-made wonders with those of the the ancient civilizations they are studying.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ ALL THE NOTES. Since we have consolidated nearly all school information into these Notes, we need the school community to be diligent about reading them. I am still hearing many parents tell me (or other staff) they did not know about some event, or deadline, or…whatever else it is; yet, the information had been in the Notes, often several times. If you know of or hear about community members who don’t read these, please remind them to. (The irony is not lost on me that those who most need to read this probably are not reading this).

IMPORTANT: I have found out parents are routinely walking in and out of classrooms during the day, even when they have neither an appointment nor are volunteering. Sorry, this is not allowed as it is disrupting the learning environment. You may visit classrooms/teachers/students before and after school or during their lunch/recess time – that’s it! At all other times you are allowed in classrooms only when you have teacher permission or come through the office first.

Other announcements:

Please make sure your children are school ready: homework/school materials, properly dressed, and enough food with the required utensils and water bottle
Lots of nice clothing in the Lost and Found; please look through it this week. I will be donating all remaining items on Friday. (I announced this before with little response so I thought I would give it one more try).
Lunch invoices from Sept through Jan will be emailed out this week.
