Hi all,

Hope all is well with everyone. I have some new information to pass along:

  • Diversity Committee meeting, Thurs, Feb 16 from 2-3:15 pm in the Library. Please come and provide your energy and ideas.

  • I recently found out Emily Tessmer (chorus instructor) has been buying snacks for all the chorus singers; she says it makes the sessions much nicer knowing they have something in their bellies. Since I don’t believe she should be paying for these, and since we don’t have the cost in the budget, I was hoping parents of participating students would not mind dropping off some snacks or providing some funds for her to continue with the purchases. You could give either to me or directly to Emily. Thanks.

  • Based on progress reports, we have decided to start honoring Distinguished Crew Members. Students in 4th grade and higher will be eligible and must carry a 3.9 overall average or higher to qualify. We will celebrate our first group at Community Meeting this Friday.

  • The schedule for Informational Meetings for SELS enrollment are now posted on the website. Please pass this on to any interested people.

  • Monday, Feb 27 from 6-7 pm in M-4 we will hold a school-wide meeting about our Middle School. We will be discussing issues such as configuration, specialist teachers, and student rotations. We are currently gathering information from other schools and will hopefully get some details out before the meeting (Ski/Skate week may interfere with this process, but we will try). We encourage those with an interest in helping shape our Middle School to participate.

  • FYI: I will be out of the office Feb 28/29 for a conference in Sacramento.

1.  If you would like to volunteer to help with the Crab Feed please send an email to mlttruckee@yahoo.com and Marcy will add you to the volunteer list….we need lots of help! This fundraiser kicks off our campaign to raise funds for additional portables (of which we need at least 2 for academic year 2013-14).
2.  Boxtops are being collected…please turn all your boxtops in by Mon, Feb. 27 in order to make the March 1 deadline!  Boxtops mean money for our school!
3.  If anyone would like to take over our No Cost Fundraisers, please let Marcy know.  It takes about 4. hours per month and can be done from home!  No experience necessary!
