Everything going along smoothly these days. Students are engaged in their learning and continually impressing staff with their respectful behaviors. Thanks for all your support in both academics and character building.

Amazing performances from SELS students at Dia de los Meurtos on Friday. Great job and congratulations to Rubi Sanchez in preparing them for the event. Announcements:

  • Wed, Nov 14 (tomorrow) from 6-7:30 pm in M-4 is our rescheduled EL 101 workshop. Please come and learn more about Expeditionary Learning and your child’s school experience.

  • In addition to District-wide days off (Wed-Fri Nov 21-23), SELS also has NO SCHOOL on Mon/Tues, Nov 19/20. We are off the entire Thanksgiving week.

  • Wed, Nov 28 is a Minimum Day.

  • Friday, Dec 7 is our Gratitude Dinner from 6-8 pm at the Recreation Center. This is a potluck and one of our only “all-school” events, meaning approx. 350-400 of the SELS community will be together at one time and place. There will also be some students performances. Please keep the evening free. (more info to come later)

  • Wed, Dec 12 is a Minimum Day.

  • Thurs, Dec 20 is our Celebration of Learning from 6-7:30 pm. This bi-annual tradition showcases student work for the first part of the year.

  • Saturday, December 22, 2012 6:30-9:00 pm, special event at the Resort at Squaw Creek: Soul Surfer Bethany Hamilton is speaking; should be a great event to attend with kids! Tickets are going fast & will probably sell out long before the event ($35 for members – $25 for kids under 18). You can also volunteer at the event & attend with no charge. On a separate note, lunch invoices for Sept/Oct will be emailed out soon. All payment info will be on the invoice (please do not submit payment to SELS). Sorry for the delay.
