Hi all,
Off to a spectacularly rainy December. Lets hope for snow soon.
We have a couple of big events coming up this month leading into our Winter Break:
-
Friday, Dec 7 Gratitude Dinner – see attachment for more info
-
Wed, Dec 12 Minimum Day
-
Friday, Dec 14: last day to grab any remaining items from Lost and Found. What is left will be picked up that afternoon to be donated to others in need
-
Thurs, Dec 20 Celebration of Learning, 6-7:30 pm on campus
We continue to strengthen our ties with TTUSD. They have been extremely helpful in working with us on facilities, funding, Special Ed, and more. Last week, Superintendent Robert Leri included a piece about SELS in his monthly newsletter: last year’s McMain’s Crew documentary, The Geology of California: 4.5 Billion Years in the Making, took first place in the Education Category at the Yosemite Film Festival. Congrats on a superb expedition product. And for the SELS community, lets continue to work with TTUSD to help foster increased greatness in our entire school district. If interested, Dr Leri is holding his final Coffee and Conversation talk with community at 6 pm, Dec 6, at the District Office board room. These meetings are to foster community input on District issues and vision.
Our Friday afternoon Electives Program has been a fantastic success. Many thanks to all parents who have volunteered their time and helped make this so interesting for the students. We will be starting a new round on Jan 11 when we return from Winter Break; if interested in helping, please contact Lynn (lakers@truckeecharterschool.org) by Dec 13 and let her know what you would like to do. The next block of Electives runs from Jan 11-Feb 8.
Cheers,
David
