Expedition News

Our spring expedition and school year is quickly coming to a close.  It is truly amazing how much the students have learned about the human body systems this semester.  They look forward to sharing all of their hard work with you at Celebration of Learning next Thursday night!

Our Spring Adventure Campout was exactly that…. An adventure through and through!   Despite the horrendous winds all day and night, the students managed to keep smiles on their faces and roll with the punches.  We found some shelter near the shore of beautiful turquoise waters Meek’s Bay, where the students climbed rocks, found numerous crawdads, and played imaginative games.  Although we were unable to make it to Angora Lakes this trip, we enjoyed our plan B options of hiking to Emerald Bay and Fallen Leaf Lake.  (How lucky are we that those are plan B?!) We are extremely appreciative for the flexibility and positive attitudes that both students and chaperones demonstrated throughout the entire trip.

Special thanks to:

Crew News

Last book orders are due tomorrow!

3rd Grade Passages: 3rd grade passages are scheduled for June 11th and 12th.  In preparation for this presentation all 3rd grade students are required to take the passage elective with their crew leader during the final session.  This will allow the 3rd grade student to revise and prepare for this important demonstration of knowledge to a public audience. If you have questions regarding passages please feel free to contact me.

The 3rd graders are coming home with a passage preparation packet so they can practice at home.  A rubric will be included in the packet in regards to expectations.  A passage schedule is also included in the packet. Please reiterate that the students will not be scored on the work presented, but HOW it is presented.  All 3rd graders will speak for about 10 minutes about their portfolio pieces.  Reassure the students that they are the experts on their work and this is their chance to show it off!
