Dear Parent/Guardian:
The California Department of Education (CDE) is currently engaged in litigation with two non-profit associations comprised of parents and guardians of children with disabilities. The plaintiffs in that litigation have requested numerous documents, as well as student data that is collected and stored by CDE, which may include personally identifiable student information.
The Tahoe Truckee Unified School District (and SELS) are not involved in the lawsuit and is not the subject of any of the suit’s allegations. Nonetheless, as part of the lawsuit, CDE has been ordered by the US District Court to release all data it has collected on K-12 general education and special education students since January 1, 2008.
