Julie Telfer was born and raised in Tahoe City, CA and continued on to receive a degree in Political Science from CSU Chico.   She moved back to Tahoe to work on her teaching credential and received her degree through Sierra Nevada College in 2004, and then went on to receive a Masters in Education in 2007.  In 2010 she obtained her TESOL endorsement in Nevada and in 2014, had her coursework transferred to California for CLAD certification.

Julie worked in Washoe County School District from 2005-2015 in various capacities: special education, kindergarten teacher, second grade teacher, and literacy specialist. She had many opportunities and trainings during her time in Reno including training in GLAD, SIOP, Data Driven Instruction, and was able to present at the NSTA Conference 2 years in a row.  Her last 5 years in Reno were spent working at a STEM academy using Project Based Learning (PBL).  Julie is excited to bring her teaching knowledge back to her home in the Truckee-Tahoe area.
