Katie Santos

7th Grade Crew Leader

Katie’s primary teaching objective is to inspire natural curiosity. She encourages students to explore the world around them by providing high quality, engaging curriculum which ultimately produces responsible, successful, and capable learners.

Katie is happily returning to SELS after four years — she student taught in Reenie McMains class during the fall of 2013. Since then, she has taught Kindergarten, 2nd and 6th grades; and prior to, served as Camp Director for Truckee Donner Recreation and Parks District for 10 years.

Katie attended Simpson University in Redding, CA, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies. She went on to get her Masters of Arts in Teaching at Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, UT. Katie is thrilled to be returning to SELS and continue her teaching career.
