After working for several years in the tech world as a technical production editor for print and online end-user, software, programming, and hardware manuals, Kirsten was inspired to change careers to teach high school literature and writing teacher in Cupertino, California.

Kirsten has four children in TTUSD.  She serves on the boards of Excellence in Education and Sierra Watershed Education Partnerships. She loves learning, nature, hiking, backpacking, fishing, camping, and skiing with her family in beautiful Truckee.
