Tracy grew up in a small town in Connecticut, spending her summers at the beach and winters skiing in Vermont.  She went to college at Syracuse University earning a BS in Civil Engineering.  While at Syracuse she started a mentoring and tutoring program for underclassmen as a student leader of Chi Epsilon (the Civil Engineering honor society).  She attended graduate school at the University of Virginia.  She earned an ME in CIvil Engineering and was one of the student leaders for their nationally recognized Concrete Canoe Team.

After college she worked for ten years as a structural engineer at consulting firms in NYC and San Diego, CA.  She was involved with the design of many projects including the Miami Heat basketball area, San Diego Padres baseball stadium, National City Public Library, Coronado High School, and a SCIF facility at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.

Following her years as an engineer, Tracy worked as a Construction Manager for a development firm working on mixed-use residential and commercial projects in San Diego, CA and Everett, WA.  In addition, she was an Adjunct Professor at New School of Architecture & Design in San Diego, CA.  She taught two courses on seismic design and comparative structures.  Before moving to Truckee, she also volunteered with the ACE Mentor Program for more than ten years.  ACE is a national mentoring program of working professionals paired with high school students with the intent of encouraging the students to pursue careers in architecture, construction, and engineering.   Over the years, Tracy served as a mentor, mentor team leader, and board member with ACE in NYC, San Diego, CA, and San Francisco, CA. 

Tracy and her family moved to Truckee in 2019, and she started working at SELS shortly thereafter.  She and her husband Mike, their two daughters Katherine and Hazel, and their two dogs Niner and Bodhi, spend their summers enjoying the beautiful weather and outdoor activities in the Sierra Nevadas.  During the summer, you can also find them at various National Parks as they work on their goal of visiting all of them together.  In the winter they can be found skiing at Alpine Meadows.
