Mission
The Mission of the Sierra Expeditionary Learning School Parent Teacher Crew is to assist our crew and crew leaders by helping with volunteering, organization and fundraising through our communication with administration and families. We want to help our diverse group of learners achieve academic excellence while developing a strong sense of character and community. We will assist in any way possible to help preserve each child’s natural curiosity and love of learning. We welcome all family members, crew leaders, administrators and staff to our meetings. The SELS PTC is a licensed 501(c)3 nonprofit organization – Federal Tax ID: 32-0342152
Grant Funding
A primary function of the PTC is to raise and allocate funds that directly support SELS students’ education throughout each school year for various enrichment programs, scholarships, teacher support, and classroom activities. A Grant Funding Process has been established to streamline applications and ensure systems are in place for approvals.
Below is a link to a summary that further explains this process along with the actual application. In short, our new policy for this year states that all grants will be reviewed on a monthly basis and will not exceed a maximum of $1000 each. You may present relevant information about your grant request at that month’s virtual PTC meeting. Approval status will be provided within two weeks of the meeting date. Mr. Manahan will also review applications to ensure there are no conflicts of interest.
