Expedition News

The Seaborg Crew has been chugging along with our Fire and Ice Expedition.  We’ve completed our photography portion leading up to our final product.  The students are currently compiling their research on the historic Truckee building and we will format the photo book soon.  On Friday, both 2/3 crews will be making root beer from scratch, as spin off of the Boca Brewery.  Everyone is quite excited about it! J The students have been working in small groups with our beloved art teacher, Ms. Lobo, to create original labels for their root beer.  Next week, the crew will be creating 3D models to help meet our second case study focus; I can explain how local resources and climate shaped Truckee.   We will be brain storming items that would be useful and listing them in our planners.

Crew News

Book orders: Another book order came home today in the yellow folders.  Please have all orders in by this FRIDAY, to ensure delivery before the holidays.  If you are getting books as a gift for your child, please let me know and I can get them to you discreetly. 

 

Harvest of the month: Thank you Amber De Fazio for bringing in some delicious bell pepper pizza for the students to try.  Many were happily surprised with how tasty they were.

 

Library: I apologize for any late notice emails you may have received, but rest assured, they are taken care of!  Everyone’s books have been renewed per my request. Our next trip will be next Thursday afternoon.  Please let me know if you would like to walk with us! 

 

SELS News

Reminder: Gratitude Dinner is this Friday night at 6pm.  Our crew is responsible for bringing a side to share (enough for 12-14 people).   This year the family event will be held at the new Rec. Center.

 

Celebration of Learning: Mark the calendar for Thursday, Dec. 20!  Invite family and friends to come see all of the great learning that has been done thus far! More info to follow soon.
